LVDS to PC video grabber suggestions
« on: February 27, 2020, 11:30:52 am »
Hi,
what is the simplest way to capture into a PC the LVDS display signals (4 differential data pairs + clock as per attached schematic) driving a graphic display? I am thinking a small custom board to convert them into any format/standard that can be then grabbed with any cheap off-the-shelf grabber card/USB-module?

To further explain...
as per attached schematic the HDMI signals from a Compute Module are fed into TI's TFP401A (at the top left of the schematic) which then convert them into RGB to the feed them into SN75LVDS83B to generate the final LVDS output for the current graphic display I'm using.

I have access only to the LVDS signals and need to feed them into a PC for live video grabbing.

SN75LVDS83B datasheet attached. TFP401 is too large to be attached here so the link is: http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tfp401a.pdf

1) What is the simplest reliable solution?
2) any limitations or potential pitfalls?

Thank you all :)
