Make a dupont /pin header connector very high
« on: May 15, 2024, 07:27:19 am »
Hi :)

I've got a main PCB with a pin header and I want to connect a second PCB to it, but because of the design, that PCB is quite "far away" (about 15 / 20 mm).
Ideally I would like to avoid using a cable, but rather have a simple pin header on the daughter board which will connect with the pin head on the main board.

Any ideas on how to raise or find a very high connector?

Thank you!

---
EDIT: ok sorry I spoke too fast, after a quick search it seems that the way to go is a simple through-hole female header (the header on the main board is 1.27mm) with long pins like that.
But then what about the assembly (for production), can the header be mounted at a specific height? It would probably need a custom plastic part underneath to mount it at the correct height, no?

you can search there for other models /  male   etc ....

when you say 1.27"  is it the pitch  or the physical size ?
