| making a fixed bias amp sound more like a cathode biased one |

i really want fixed bias because it can usually output more power and is easier to bias, but i like the more commpressed and smoother tone of a cathode biased output. can i make a fixed biased amp sound more like a cathode biased one? |

Maybe have a Cathode biased preamplifier stage generate you harmonics for you so it sounds "right" and have the efficient power stage after that? |

I was experimenting with putting a 1k resistor in series with the center tap of the OPT but that would defeat the whole purpose of fixed bias right? |
