MAX811 as debounce?
(1/1)
technix:
For a button that is not intended to be pressed frequently, is MAX811 (and its clones) a good candidate for a debouncing chip?

A 555 in monstable is just as good

I wouldn't say that. The 555 is more flexible, but it uses much more power, than the MAX811 and requires more external components.

The MAX811 seems to be up to the job, but why not do it using software?

Sure, I would tend to use a more general solution but the MAX811 is a great choice if the power-on-reset function is acceptable.

Software debouncing may not be an option here.
