MCU controlled battery charger
(1/1)
Rendo:
Hello everyone. I tried the following on an buck converter. I cut the connection of the bottom feedback resistor to ground and hooked it up to a DAC controlled by an Arduino. I was also measuring the current and voltage of the output with an ADC. It worked and I was able to accurately control the voltage and current.
My question is that if this design is stable or will I mess the feedback control loop on the long run? I want to modify a SMPS (probably a cheap Chinese one, 24V, 20A) to charge a lead acid battery and I was wondering if this design could work and not suddenly lose control of the voltage/current and damage the battery while I'm away.
Does this design also work on a voltage divider connected to a TL431 instead of the feedback pin on an control IC?
