MeanWell DDR-240D-24 Railway power supply
« on: November 27, 2019, 12:31:47 pm »
I have a project where I need to step down from 72V to 24V and I have come across the mealwell DDR series of converters that are rail approved.

Should they be trusted? I need to send them to a hot country.

I've not used that specific product, but I've used many many Meanwell products in the past, all good.  I wouldn't hesitate to use anything they make.

Lots of fakes out there though.

Same as Dr D - I've used tons of Meanwell although not Rail products. Only in this country, but in bus shelter displays which can get pretty hot through their own power dissipation plus solar gain.

I used to buy from https://www.meanwelldirect.co.uk based in Reading.

Actually I can get a 1kW melcher unit for the same cost per W as I need nearly 1kW anyway and you loose 10% the power when you parallel the meanwell supplies.
