Just another LM317 Power Supply
« on: December 22, 2012, 03:18:40 am »
Hi Guys

Just recently did a new case for my old home-build power supply, and thought i would do a biginners guide on how to build a very simple supply.

Here is a link if anybody is interested: http://ec-projects.com/index.php?side_id=13

If you do actually read all this, please let me know if you get any value out of it.

I think it's quite wordy, not many people have the attention span to read this much nowadays, more pictures would be better, or just do a video. However, more wordy is better for google search, at least it's true up until now. You could keep the words but do an video on top...just my personal opinion...

Yep. Well known design, it works and is easy to build. That 7-segment Led-display looks nice.

Might want to check that reference to a TO-2 package. Maybe I'm wrong, but pretty sure you're talking about the good old TO-3.

Thanks for the feedback. I am planing to do a video of it, and I want to change the hand drawn images with proper ones, but ran outatime ;) I do have a few photos I can add, so I'll do that :) I was also afraid it would be too much talk and too less action, so I'm thankful for the feedback :)

Yes, it's almost the exact schematic from the datasheet.. :) I build this a few years back, with very little electronic knowledge, and I've used it quit a lot. And yep, it just works. Thanks :)

Okay, I could do that, but I still want to redraw the AC vs Rectified one. To be showing the correct voltages :)

Thanks for the feedback ! :)
