Hello Mates,

I wish I could spent 5 grand on a nice capacitive discharge stud weld, well I can't thus I must made one..

After some googling I've found some information on the Soyer BMS-8N, it uses a 3 x 22mF (mili) at 200V to weld studs from M3 to M8 (enough for me), all this power runs through a beefy SCR. (page 14)

I was looking for pulse electrolity capacitors, which capacitor do you guys think they use?

Since you are trying to undercut Chinese machines well below 1K$ I'd say that beggars can't be choosers, the cheapest surplus 200V+ electrolytics you can find and beg they don't blow up.
