MELF SOD-80 diode with numbers round body?
« on: March 16, 2019, 11:19:47 pm »
Hi!

Just a quickie one!

Does anyone know which series of MELF diodes are blackish in colour and have no band to denote cathode - just a series of small white numbers round the body at the cathode end - I've a board with a lot of '1s' and a lot of '7s' - the diodes marked '1' rectify O/P from a standard 50Hz transformer secondary, whilst the '7' marked devices are clustered around some small ferrite-core transformers!

There is also one marked '6' and another marked '9'!

The diodes marked '1' test like a standard small diode with a Vf abut 0.61-0.62V, the ones marked '7' test like a fast-recovery diode with a Vf about 0,48V and those marked '6' or '9' test as a schottky with Vf about 0,15V!
