Hi,
I am planning to use Mini-DIN PCB-mount connectors and thought there was only 1 type (for the same given number of pins) but maybe that's not correct?
Three questions:
1) With reference to the attached pictures, in one picture the "notch/index" is made from the shielding metal being notched/bent inwards. In the other picture (circled in red) it looks like there is a separate plastic pin. Generally it wouldn't matter but it looks like the one with the plastic pin is much further inward towards the centre of the connector's circle. The two pictures show two different numbers of pins but only because of the pictures I had handy. The same is for the same number of pins. So am wondering whether they are the same or not AND, if not, whether they are fully compatible with each other?
BTW, The one with is sold as S-video cable and the other as general use and CD players use.
2) Which are the most common/standard number of pin?
3) what is the difference between Mini-DIN and Mini-XLR? Which is the most common?
Many thanks
