Analog scope - On-screen text
« on: April 28, 2015, 08:03:32 pm »
I've reworked the whole code of an old project of mine from August 2009.

The results are shown in the video which happens to be my very first in life.

Critics of any kind are kindly requested and will be appreciated.

Funny, I think that looks nicer than most analog scope readouts I've seen (lots of higher-end analog scopes had some digital readout capability).

That's probably because the the text is the only thing being written, as opposed to text vectors being multiplexed in during the retrace blanking period while one or more analog waveforms are being displayed on the same tube.  Remember, an analog scope isn't a raster scan display like a TV or computer. On scopes like the Tek 7000 series, there are always artifacts introduced into both the text and the waveforms by the multiplexing.

A closer look with nonsensical text for tests.
