I have a product which uses a thin (0.6mm or 0.8mm) PCB, black in color.  I completely forgot that Chinese new year is next weekend, and everyone will be closed.  I need to get some PCB's made quickly.

I use AP Circuits in Canada for quick turn proto boards but the price goes up by a factor of 10 for anything other than 1.6mm FR-4 and I am not gonna pay $600 for 10 boards.

I have been looking at 4pcb and Sunstone and all the rest - but they mostly all want you to set up an account before they will tell you a price.  Is there a fab outfit that someone can recommend who could do around 50pcs with a week or so turn time for a reasonable price that won't be closing for Chinese NY?

Multi Circuit Boards have a pretty good calculator and can do it within a few days if you need them to.
However, they only accept commercial orders. You cannot order from them if you don't have a company or something like that to make the purchase for you.

Edit: Sorry, didn't realise you were from the US at first. I am not sure if they ship outside europe. But might be worth a try.

EuroCircuits

Very cost efficient and they ship to US for < 20$.

One thing we recently learn is that non-Chinese PCB houses also raise prices during the holiday, because of the increased demand.

I personally use http://www.quick-teck.co.uk/index.php

Very good service, cheap and they do things like different colour silk screen and solder mask for free on orders totaling less than 1m^2.

Have you ever thought of bringing in-house PCB prototyping to your lab? Instead of worrying about holidays and closures and spending $600 for 10 boards you could instead make one board in a half hour for a very scant cost of materials and tooling. You should take a look.

So the machine is free?

I'm privileged enough to have access to an LPFK at work.  One board in half an hour?  Never going to happen.

I spent over 8 hours once routing and drilling a eurocard sized board (all through hole, lots of dips, LOTS of traces, both sides), and since then we've relied on external PCB manufacture.  It's just too much in house effort.

We use it now for mechanical templates - we make sure PCB blanks will fit their end use before ordering boards.
