Mystery connector - Pancon "HALLcon"
« on: April 04, 2020, 09:25:42 am »
I bought this very nice miniature flow sensor for a project, the "Digmesa Nano":

But annoyingly I can't find a suitable connector for it. The sensor datasheet describes it as a "Pancon HALLcon" 3-pin connector. But while Pancon is a well-known brand, the only references to a "HALLcon" connector series Google brings up for me are from this Digmesa sensor. And I couldn't find any similar-looking Pancon connectors under other names either.

Is this connector series known under some other name? I have attached a picture of the flow sensor, and two pictures of the connector body as shown in the Digmesa flyer. The pin pitch is 2.54 mm. Many thanks for any hints you might have!

I'll bump this up, just once, promised!

Maybe I am out of luck here? I have now found a more detailed datasheet (in German) which suggests that you can only buy this sensor complete with the plug -- either with or without wires attached. So maybe it's indeed a custom plug which Pancon makes for Digmesa only? Unfortunately the only vendor I found for the sensor is selling it as a spare part for coffee machines (Gorenje), and is selling the bare sensor only.

Is that so that a datasheet for the part does not exist? If you can't find it from the distibutor, maybe contact the manufacturer? What you have linked here clearly is some kind of marketing brief pdf, not the actual datasheet. (Or I really hope so!)

The link in my second post is to a more substantial datasheet for the sensor. But again, no details on the plug beyond the "Pancon Hallcon" name. And the information that they sell the sensor in two different configurations, both of which include a plug -- so it may be a custom part.

Pancon, the plug manufacturer, has a rudimentary German website (http://www.pancon.de/html/uber_uns_-_about_us.html) and an international website which has been "currently unavailable" for the last days (https://panconcorp.com/). I have checked various distributors, but none of them seems to carry this kind of plug.
