Need an alternative to FFC/FPC connector
« on: December 29, 2014, 07:38:05 am »
Hello I have a design for a FPGA PCB with a 60 pin GPIO breakout via a FFC/FPC connector. Its a small board and the connector is too big. Its on the underside of a miniPCIe board... what are my options ? What is a good choice for a more dense connector that is resistant to crosstalk, durable and cheap... has a near 0 height profile... and has a flex cable output ?

I take it soldering the FFC/FPC directly onto the PCB is out of the question?
Greek letter 'Psi' (not Pounds per Square Inch)

Maybe use two connectors? One on each side of the PCB, then you can half the connector size.
