Hi,
I want build simple radio-microphone at band ~235.7Mhz.
I see this IC from analog device.
ADF4360-8 , have all, VCO, PLL

But my question is, How to modulate the carrier in FM ?

I'm not sure that chip is suitable? In principle, you could couple your modulating signal into Vtune, but I think the PLL is going to get very upset and confused when it sees that the phase of the LO is totally out of whack with the REF clk.

I could very well be wrong.

Better don't do it ar all - I guess someone who has permission to use that range in his designs will also be able to do FM.

(The german frequency directory says military radio services only. As europe has a reasonable harmonisation going, this range will not be available to anyone else somewhere else in italy.)
