Hey Dave, and all others,

Dave, I have an idea or suggestion for a Youtube video/little project; namely, looking at the circuit design and building of an RCD tester device prototype.
They seem pretty straightforward, having a few common set currents, eg; 0.5x, 1x, and 5x of 10mA and 30mA respectively (5mA, 10mA, 15mA, 30mA, 50mA, 150mA), and a timer, to measure the time taken until the RCD trips and breaks the circuit; plus an LCD display to show information such as the measured time/test result.
You could maybe take a look at what would be involved in building a circuit to perform that function, with a DaveCADTM or two and maybe a prototype?

Well, that's just an idea that I think would be quite interesting. What do you think?

You could also consider this:
A great way for you to learn is to find a project like this that interests you and that you have a use for, and tackle it yourself. Start out with a very basic circuit and parts and do some experimentation, learning and working toward a functional device that you can use. You'll find lots of help here when you have specific questions. Go for it; I think you'll be glad you did.
