Finding the correct connector
« on: April 05, 2016, 09:33:24 pm »
I am working on a project where I need to extend the cable that plugs into a third party device.  I've successfully managed to find the female connector that plugs into the third party device, but I can't find the correct male socket.  The nearest I found was a DF3-9EP-2C by Hirose.  This is really close but a little bit too big so it doesn't hold the female plug properly and it's too loose.

I've looked on Mouser, Digikey and Farnell and the Hirose one is the only one that is close to what I need.  Has anyone got any tips on finding something suitable?

What I need is a male socket with wire crimp termination and 2mm pitch.  The plug that mates with it is 18.65mm w x 3.6mm h x 5.4mm d.

Thanks
Paul
