OLIMEX MOD_GPS - interface voltage level?
(1/1)
up8051:
Hello,

I bought several MOD_GPS modules from Olimex from the Polish TME distributor.
Module can be powered from 2.7V to 5V.
But there no information about voltage level of TxD and RxD lines.
The measured voltages on these lines are 3.3V.
RxD with Pull-Up to 3.3V?
I need to known if the RxD line is 5V tollerand.

I sent e-mail to support@olimex.com but any respond.
I make a topic on Olimex Support Forum but also any respond.
I tried conntact via Facebook but they redirect me to suppot@olimex.com
So I have vicious circle  |O
Fatal level of technical documentation and support.

Maybe someone will help me get information about  interface voltage level.

senso:
Its based on a uBlox (Neo) 7 module, that specifies a 3.6v  Max voltage, so its safe to assume that it wont support/tolerate 5V on its pins..

https://www.u-blox.com/en/product/neo-7-series

And the UEXT connector also only talks about 3.3v, safe to assume that its 3.3v IO only.

Thanks.
This afternoon I received information from the distributor that there is no buffer between the connector and uBlox module,
so pin RxD is not 5V tollerant :(
