What's going on in this LC power filter used with FPV drone cameras?

I'm curious what might be going on with this LC power filter (note both the front and back sides of the board):

What is that IR chip on the back and how is it being used?

It's a MOSFET: https://www.infineon.com/dgdl/irf9335pbf.pdf?fileId=5546d462533600a40153561147881da3.

Probably used as reverse polarity protection in case someone plugs it in wrong.
