PCB standoff cover
« on: February 12, 2018, 02:51:46 pm »
Hello,

I would like to build a cover for a PCB project, that's it, a plastic sheet covering the PCB area, with 4 holes where the plastic standoff will fit and a map of the connectors printed on top of it. I was thinking of some sort of 1-2mm thick PVC/plastic that I can easily cut and print using an Inkjet printer.

Has any of you tried such thing before, any recommendation?

Thanks.

its a good idea especially if its a module in a system because it can prevent something like a screwdriver tip shorting out a pcb during testing or calibration.

A higher end solution would be to cut out an acrylic or plexiglass plate and glue transparancy paper to it.

Also works as a blast shield for power electronics explosions and protects tou from mains.

Of course ideally you should use a full metal shield to protect the circuit...
