Part identification - high voltage SMD ceramic thick film resistor
(1/1)
r0d3z1:
Can anybody help to identify this component ?

It looks like an high voltage SMD ceramic thick film resistor. The left pin are connected to the DC-link and from the 6 pin on the right start 6 tracks directed to the microcontroller.

Thanks
Gyro:
Strange (from your connection description). It looks more like a current shunt, with the current pins on the right, shared over multiple pins, and the potential sense pins on the left.

Alternately, it looks like not much ratio, e.g., about 15 squares of resistance on the long arms, and one square in the middle.  So, a differential gain of 1/15 to 1/30, depending on exactly how the fields work out.

That assumes the conductive traces are solid underneath the enamel, and not snaking further.

I can say say with confidence, you aren't going to find this unless it's specifically made available by the manufacturer as a replacement part.  Consider replacing the board.

Initially I have also thought the same, however the connection doesn't make sense for a shunt.

Thank you Tim, however the post is not for a repair/replacement purpose. I was curious to understand what this component could be. If it is not a shunt, what could it be ?

T3sl4co1l:
Well then... measure it and see what it is.  It's a four way resistor.  Low values suggest current shunt, high values suggest voltage sense. ;D

Otherwise, no, I don't have any particular insight into why it's drawn the way it is.  Who knows...
