Could someone help me find a connector with the following characteristics (and a rating of 5v/500mA)?
* 8 pin
* both header and housing have protected pins (cannot be touched)
* housing connectors mounted via 0.1"-pitch through-hole (or can be panel-mounted)
* polarized (nice, but not required)
* easy to find, as much "jelly-bean" as possible
Basically what I want is something like a Molex mini-fit jr, but they are too stiff. This cable will be attached and detached multiple times per day.
I couldn't find anything like this on Octopart, Mouser and the other distributors. The connector section is depressingly complex. :-//

Watch out for the number of cycles the connector is specced for. Some are in the low 10's of cycles before they may fail.

As I said, that series of connectors would be OK for my application but they are too stiff (it takes quite a bit of force to insert and remove them) and their stated mating cycles is only 30 insertions.
