Password to restore Options on the Advantest R3131A
(1/1)
Tony_T:
Thought I should share this very useful information on how to restore Options like the Tracking Generator / Frequency Span Lower Limit  which have become disabled after the NVram battery has failed / been changed.

This information was posted yesterday on the Advantest group by 'wschraml' and is not my own.. but I've seen many R3131A owners asking for this info in the past and believe it wasn't readily available before. So I thought it warrants posting elsewhere.

To restore your Tracking Generator / Lower frequency span and perhaps other 'Options' to the Advantest R3131A do the following:-

 <Shift> <9>
Password: 882323 <Hz>    (882323 seems to be the default PW)
Change the “A Type” option to “On”
    “Exit”

I am going to kick this back open to make sure it is all in one place.

I noticed today that my R3131A wasn't holding the settings and I assumed the battery was dead.  I also checked the TG for the heck of it and I have an error 802 at power on, might have been 820, but it talks about the TG not being leveled.  If I go into the setup code as mentioned below and re-activate the TG, the error goes away.

Anyway, thanks again for posting this information as it saved my TG.
