PCB checklist for buttons/switches
« on: March 28, 2019, 08:50:15 am »
I'm creating a public PCB design checklist (https://murphymeter.com/checklists/checks/2/0/). The scope is consumer products.

What would you put into a checklist regarding buttons and switches?
So far I have:
- Contact bouncing
- You should label what it's used for
- Operating life

What else? How about contact oxidation? Mechanical stability? How do you check this, or more precise what are counter measures?

Is contact oxidation really a problem for consumer products? Maybe if you live close to the shore or in a humid area?
