PCB for Crockcroft-Walton Multiplier available?

(1/1)

Chris56000:
Hi!

Associated with the development of a home-built Huntron 2000 Component Tracker, I found a "Preamp Transformer" with 220V 50mA (twice) and 6.3V 0.8A (twice) that will do nicely for the high voltage deflection and component-test supply, but I'd like to use the second 220V H.T. winding with a multiplier for the 1250-2000V which a CRT needs.

Can anyone tell me if there's a ready-made 5 or more stage Cockcroft-Walton Multiplier PCB I can buy? I've looked on fleabay, Banggood, Aliexpress, etc., and can't find anything handy that meets the need yet!

Gyro:
The simplest way is to use a piece of bare FR4 or similar insulating sheet. That way you can drill the holes for the components that you actually have and set your own creepage distances. No extraneous copper pads.

Random find I came across some time ago might do what you need with a bit of a mod. eBay auction: #273740937131 or chase up ionizers might get you what you want.

GadgetBoy:
I've played around with CW adders a lot, and the best way is to solder them discreetly instead of using a PCB, especially if you're working with kV, lessens tracking.
