Pimoroni Square TFT
« on: May 14, 2020, 08:58:54 am »
Good morning

I have some Pimoroni Square 4.0" 720x720 displays....

For a project I would like to use just the TFT, which seems to be a RGB parallel type with capactitive touch...

Does some know what TFT is used in this display kit?
I opened up a display to see some manufacturer information...but nothing to be found...

Or does someone knows of other TFT square display with 4" diagonal dimension?

thanks in advance

I don't know what TFT they use but they have the source to their initialisation code on github. Knowing which Pi GPIO pins do what and that code should allow you to rig up something to allow you to drive it from something else. You might be able to figure out the display controller from the list of commands in the driver.
I'm not David L Jones. Apparently I actually do have to point this out.

Well the problem is not how to drive it...that is clear....

I need it for a project the same TFT or a similar type so I can do an own PCB design for it....

So far I've only found a Sharp TFT which is smaller (around 52mm x 52mm display) but has a resolution of 2160x2160 (o;
