Pls suggest BT.656 input to PAL/NTSC output video encoder chip?
« on: February 17, 2020, 05:00:02 pm »
Hello,

there is an easy and simple way to get from analog PAL/NTSC composite video to ITU R.BT.656 video data, such as TVP5150 (datasheet). This is a small 32pin package, really simple to implement.

I am looking for an equivalent simple solution to get from BT.656 down to analog video (composite or Y/C or component Y/Pb/Pr).

I have probably found what I was looking for (ADV739x, datasheet), but is there anything else, that for example would be way cheaper (just single PAL/NTSC CVBS out would be sufficient)?

The ADV739x seems to be a little marvel too (just as the TVP5150 is), just 32 pins, 3 DACs and any mode (CVBS, YPbPr, YC and even RGB) up to 74.25MHz pixclk - awesome HD video.

Thanks for suggestions,
Y.
