Title: power supply dought
Post by: electros6 on October 19, 2014, 02:14:17 pm
Hi guys,
I tried to do study the HP E3620. So I build the circuit and did various test and I work like a treat. So I tried to do the next version using DAC and microcontroller just like agilent E3634A . I got one dought whether the reference voltage is set based on the calculated value or any feedback loop is used to control the DAC . what I am trying to say is suppose consider in order to set 5V out if DAC to set 1V , whether 1V is set directly or feedback loop is used to monitor the out value and set the DAC value accordingly.
why I ask this is if the DAC value is set directly due to aging the calculated value may differ, right?

Sure, the DAC can drift ... but so can the ADC.
