PowerPc 403 - Does anyone have a working schematic?
« on: June 15, 2020, 02:40:32 pm »
Hi everyone!
Hope you are safe and having a great time.

I got 6 PowerPC 403 ICs in a not at all shady deal on eBay ^^

So for the time being I'll be working on a PCB for the new old stock ( think so ) processors .
However I still have serious doubts regarding the way to connect the processor, and I rather not do too much reflow since I'm very bad at it, nor blow the ic with high voltages.

As far as I've researched it seems the PPC403 was really famous back in the early 2000s for some tv top box or something alike.
For my project ( The Lüpposita board ) I've planed to use a MCU with USB to transfer the ROM/RAM data to the board
and the cheapest and freely available CPLD or FPGA available ( ¿Lattice? ) for glue logic if needed ( by reading the data sheet I would say is not required ).

So, anyone by any chance does have a PowerPC 403 evaluation kit schematic or similar?
or any information regarding the implementation ?

Thanks!
