Personal project: LED lighting retrofit.
« on: November 16, 2021, 08:52:07 pm »
I finished a project some time ago that I spent some time on. I'd love to get some feedback on it if anyone feels like it.

The application is a retrofit for interior lighting in a vehicle.

Runs on anything the LED-driver can handle: 7V to 42V. 2 strings of 3 constant current driven LEDs. One driver for each string. Current draw for both strings is maximum 3A, but tuned down to 1.5A for sustained use.

Analog input to dim down, PWM input to dim down, digital signal to disable the light, NTC readout. None of these has to be used in order for the light to function.
Reverse polarity protection. Under voltage cut-off. Temperature compensation.

1 layer alu board, 1oz, black soldermask, white silkscreen.
The terminals are for through-boards fed wire, 0.75mm2 - 1.5mm2.

Hand placed and soldered using under-heat and a heat gun.
