(-40)-(40)V P Channel Based Reverse Polarity Protection
« on: March 13, 2023, 07:16:44 am »
Hello everyone, I'm building a circuit and I'm building a pmos based reverse polarity protection circuit. The input requirements are as follows. It needs to carry 8-40V input voltage to the output and it needs reverse polarity protection up to -40V. I predict that the system consumes a maximum of 8.8 watt of power. For this application , using this p channel mosfet DMP6023LFGQ-7 https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/diodes-incorporated/DMP6023LFGQ-7/6187315, and using that zener diode BZX84-A10,215 (
Zener Diode 10 V 250 mW ) https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/nexperia-usa-inc/BZX84-A10-215/2119643 ,and I'm using a 10kohm 1/8watt resistor. I understand how it should work in theory, but I'm a junior engineer. I'm afraid of not seeing overheating and other problems. or can you suggest other configurations that are in active stock on digikey?
