Dismantling a Philips LED light
« on: December 12, 2020, 06:58:18 am »
I have some of these 12v lights which only startup when the supply voltage is close to 12v. Once running they continue to work at lower voltages. I would like to bypass the existing controller and use my own which doesn't have the annoying 12v startup threshold.

Any idea how to dismantle it with minimal damage. The back half looks like glass, but the front face sounds and feels like plastic. If I pry the front off do you think I'll be able  to get at the electronics behind the LED module without destroying it?
