Hello,
I wanted to use a 6 inch 800x480 LCD display from a cheap photo frame.
I expected that there will be a display with a typical RGB interface (40 or 50 pins), i.e. RGB signals (6 or 8 bits per color), HSYNC / VSYNC (synchronization pulses) CLK (clock) and DE (Data Enable) and signals related to the power supply and LCD backlight.
Unfortunately, I had an unpleasant surprise, yes, the ribbon is 40-pin, but with a completely unusual set of signals.
Some technical details:
-foto frame based on the AMLOGIC AML6221 processor (unfortunately I have not found any documentation)
- display 6 inches 800x480 40-pin ribbon
- the display is labeled TL060W-V600-V2 (unfortunately there is no documentation here)
However, I managed to find a diagram of a similar frame based on the same processor:
https://usermanual.wiki/Document/texettf601tf602tf801tf802schematics.1012292288/viewTwo things can be seen in the diagram:
- control signals for LCD are only RGB (6 bits each), DE and CLK are not HSYNC / VSYNC signals
- unfortunately, a large number of required supply voltages: AVDD, VCC VSN, SSP, VGH, VGL (similar to displays with a 50 pin ribbon).
And my question, has anyone met this type of LCD interface?
Is the DE signal immediately a synchronization signal and then the data for the whole image is sent?
