| ElectricPower:
1. I have read that its possible to add heat sink to LM2596 to make it give som more current output. Is this a simple task to do? If yes...how? :) 2. I have an power adapter from an old laptop that gives 20V and 4.2amp. Can i safely connect it to LM2596? I know that max theoretical output still is 3amp (theoretical) but can i use that adapter anyway? |
| wraper:
Are you talking about very cheap fake LM2596 modules from China? |
| ElectricPower:
I think so... ibought it frem AliExpress. It is an LM2596S (with LED display). I think it cost me 1.20$. It is this one i ordered: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32825777330.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.3fe34c4dQxQQSZ |
| wraper:
Then it has nothing to do with real LM2596. They work at much lower frequency and actual specifications are not known. |

Try it. If it blows, you're out a buck and a counterfeit chip. ;D Tim |
