Quick check on a DFPlayer Mini circuit
« on: May 08, 2020, 03:50:03 am »
Planning a project that will use an Arduino to run a night-light. I want there to be a button that will play a random sound effect. I did a little research and found that a DFPlayer Mini and a PAM8403 can be used. Can you please check my schematic to see if I made any mistakes. Obviously there are missing items that I'll add in later as I work on the project (buttons, etc)

One of the Youtube videos mentioned using a voltage divider in the place of the 1K resistor. What's the difference? I know that the RX pin is supposed to have 3v instead of 5v. Is a voltage divider better/worse/different than a resistor?

The speaker outputs of the DFplayer are driven by a built in PA, so there is no need for another PA.

Oh interesting. So I can probably take the PAM8403 out of the circuit? Cool beans.

Yes, the dfplayer already has a PAM8403 or equivalent chip built in; the speaker outputs can drive a speaker up to 3W directly according to this:
