Ready made 4 digit LED module with bezel?
(1/1)

Hi!
Just a quickie one!
I fancy having another go at the P.E. Autoranging Multimeter from April/May 1979 of Practical Electronics – can anyone point me in the direction of a ready–made 4 digit LED assembly of reasonable size (0.56" or bigger) I can use for this?
It doesn't matter what function it originally performs as I'll be binning whatever electronics it comes with and connecting the 23 segment/anode connections to the main board, or alternatively make a compatible display board to fit the bezel!

There are a lot of 0.56" panel meters on aliexpress/ebay... just search for "0.56 panel meter"

Also, you can get the empty bezels on aliexpress:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32603402118.html
Product title is: "Plastic Case for Voltmeter and Ammeter 48 x 29 x 22mm Black Shell for Voltage Current meter"
"shell" and "case" seem to be the significant words to find these things. You can also get the empty bezels for character and graphic lcd displays (e.g. 1602 and 12864).
Note that in some cases it is less expensive to buy a complete meter in a bezel than just the bezel, although the price goes down to about $0.50/piece in larger quantities.
