Racal Store 4D (4 track) and Store 7D (8 track) including carrying cases plus technical manual and lots of unused tapes free to anyone willing to collect from near Huddersfield (not far off the M62).
They are configured as data recorders (down to DC) but could be converted to direct audio recording.
The tape speed/tension servos are excellent (standard fixed speed settings or continuously variable up to 60 inches/s). The 8 track has a problem in the power supply and one channel is faulty. It was my intention to replace the PSU with more modern chips but I no longer have access to the requisite facilities/equipment.
Converting to audio recording is a fairly ambitious project. The alternative is the skip.
If interested PM me but be quick – I will not be around for much longer.

Too bad we aren't in the same geography. I have a TASCAM R2R that was considered a mastering deck to 2-track, has Dolby SR noise reduction. Sounds fantastic, great for vinyl duplication. I live in the thick of some of the greatest ex-recording studios. Almost had a 1" deck but my wife said, "NO". Oh well. Problem is that most of the tapes I've purchased are flaking now. There is a person, great guy, that last I checked was still refurbishing capstan pressure rollers.
Good luck.
