Replace Eprom by Flash.
« on: April 22, 2020, 07:19:31 pm »

Hi.

Is it possible, in a circuit, to replace an Eprom memory 27C010 by Flash memory SST39SF010A ?
The memory chip is not updated once it is burned with the programmer (a Chinese TL866), and in the circuit it is only read.

I see that the only different pin is PGM and WE pins, although it seems to me that on both chips its used for the same purpose, to write the content, and in the case of the Flash also to erase it.

The Eprom, a 27c010 I only find it in DIP and PLCC32 packages, that's why I prefer to use a Flash that is in TSOP32 package. But I don't know if there is compatibility.

Regards.
