Replacement for TDA0161 metal detection IC?
« on: March 30, 2023, 10:58:43 am »
Hey everyone,

Does anyone have recommendation to replace a TDA0161?
https://www.digikey.dk/htmldatasheets/production/111184/0/0/1/tda0161.html

The application is to detect a metal locking pin that goes into a hole. The hole has in integrated coil, so the pin changes its inductance when present.
Simple metal detection really. I'm having a hard time finding a simple replacement.

Thanks, but I'm looking for an active chip, as this is for a new product.
Anyway, I'm now going with the Texas Instruments LDC series, the are "Inductance to digital" converters and are reasonably priced.
