I/O-Link Device Stack Examples?
« on: March 20, 2020, 10:05:09 am »
Hello everyone!

Im just starting out with the implementation so forgive me for asking dumb questions!

I have previously written a device stack for HART 5 and made ModBus RTU implementations for previous projects, the information regarding these communication methods are widely available (less with HART).
Im having a somewhat hard time finding any code examples. Im currently reading through the official I/O-Link system specification and will use this to create a device stack if i cant find any quicker way of doing so. https://io-link.com/share/Downloads/Spec-Interface/IOL-Interface-Spec_10002_V112_Jul13.pdf

I am aware that i can purchase a device stack from tons of different companies, though it is a backup plan. It would be great if anybody can recommend a company that sells a generic C/C++ I/O-Link device stack.

Hardware:
TIOL111 or MAX2251X

These seem to be the go-to transceiver IC's that are used for I/O-Link.
I would prefer to use the TIOL111 from Texas Instruments but might have to use the MAX2251X from Maxim depending on the stack.

This was an unexpected last minute request witch is why im here asking for a "quick and dirty solution"...

I woudl greatly appreciate if anybody knows of any code examples for I/O-Link, has any better recommendations of IC's or knows of a cheap or good stack supplier.

Did you find any stack vendors?

I found one but that was 17k€ for the device stack. Which is too much for our application.

Btw do you know how much the membership fee costs? I don't find that anywhere.
