I have a question regarding the M430F4250.

Discussion in this thread revolved around trying to read the code from this micro to burn a replacement, but readers are expensive. Since others in this thread probably have a reader/burner that can read the code, would anyone be interested in trying to read the code if I send the chip?

This assumes the chip isn't protected, works good enough to extract data from, and is the cause of the unit not working.

I'm digging up an old thread I started.

If anyone is still on this thread and/or remembers the issue, maybe this will be of interest. Due to hoping someday I'll come across a repair for the issue my unit has, I've kept the unit on my shelf. Very soon I plan to discard some stuff and began tinkering with this again to see whether it's worth holding onto.

I kept trying combinations of holding various buttons upon powering and got into some mode where the knob began adjusting the display.

From observation, most of the buttons appear to work because they allow different modes to be displayed when I hold them when powering. Also, the knob appeared to work in that mode because the numbers changed (although I've yet to recreate that same mode).

The display shows memory step D always displayed. I'm wondering if someone messed up settings and saved it into this step D mode thus causing the panel to lock.

I've read through the manual and I don't see a factory reset anywhere and the manual states the 9-pin D-sub connector on the rear is for factory use only eliminating any external software to try unlocking it.

Long shot, but has anyone come across a way to reset the unit (although it seems just simply re-powering does the trick)?
