RJ45 SMD >=CAT6?

Hi

I was just looking for a surface mount RJ45 8p8c 90° connector with at least CAT6 rating but can not find any  :wtf: (DigiKey, RS, Mouser, Farnell) Am I blind?
eg.: https://www.digikey.com/products/en/connectors-interconnects/modular-connectors-jacks/366?k=&pkeyword=&pv69=3&sf=1&FV=140001e%2C1400008%2C3400030%2C4400070%2C4400077%2C4400088%2C4400005%2C4400054%2Cii1%7C2171%2Cffe0016e&quantity=&ColumnSort=0&page=1&pageSize=25
As soon as I select surface mount, they are either CAT5e or unrated.
Through hole is readily available but doesn't really work in this project.

Do you know any suitable connector?

The connector will be used in a 5GBASE-T network and I don't know how bad the influence of CAT5e would be here. Is it just less crosstalk?

Thank You
Lukas

AIUI CAT5/6 only refers to the cables, CAT6 having a seperator to reduce crosstalk, so probably no difference between a CAT5 and CAT6 connector

Why aren't you just using a magjack (which admittedly are also rare in surface mount)?

Also, why not just standard 10g optical (trivial to surface mount)? Is this a wifi access point or similar run by PoE?

I don’t think a few millimeters of sub-par cabling would hurt that much.

Sorry for the late reply

Thanks Mike! That is exactly the answer i was hoping for.

I have a 5G camera inside of a product but can not connect it directly to the panel. I has to run from the panel --> PCB --> patch cable --> camera (yes i have tried everything to get rid of the pcb step ;) )

Thanks you!
