Robust DC brushed Motor Driver

(1/1)

ali_asadzadeh:
Hi,
I want to design a 5-10A , 36-52V DC brushed motor driver, and I know that there are tons of stuff out there, But I want to know who has done it better, and get some Ideas, Do we have some cool open source project for that, like the ODrive for Brush-less versions ;)

make you life easy and use two high current smart half bridges, ie something like

won't get you up to your 52v, but will save a lot of hassle and be very robust (ime, you can dead short those ICs with a screwdriver across their output pins at fully current and they survive....)

If you want to go to a descrete's solution then it's a LOT more work with mosfets and drivers etc and you'll have to provide all the necessary safety (overcurrent, shortcircuit, de-sat detection etc) yourself

Thanks for the feedback, I'm interested in reading the motor Current too, this device does not provide this feature, also it seems that it has a supply voltage of up to 40V only
