RS232(?) Data port on cheap Chinese caliphers/comparators
« on: June 14, 2019, 03:25:31 pm »
Hi everyone. I bought a long time ago one of those cheap chinese comparators that you can find off ebay:

  https://www.aliexpress.com/item/RS232-9holes-data-output-for-digital-indicator-electronic-indicator-data-output-link/1227581712.html

Arguably this thing has a data port, but it came without a cable and I would like to get off some readings.
There's not much I could find about the 4-lead port and/or the connector. They mention rs232, but I assume it's just about the bundled adapter.

Before I spend some time on it (I would probably just solder 4 wires directly on the tracks), has somebody already tried to look into it and knows what sort of pinout/protocol is it?

check out TouchDRO, there are descriptions of the protocols found in various calipers.
