How to use a 1602 LCD Displays Until My 2004 Arrives?

I would think that it would only display two lines? Is there any danger of breaking anything?

Should work fine as long as the pinout is compatible. Any output outside the display boundary will simply not be viewable.

Yep, pins are compatible. Should work, as I see it. Just wanted an extra opinion. Thanks for the help.
