DisplayPort to DVI

I'm looking for the cheapest way to convert a DisplayPort output to a DVI-I (single link) input. Is it really as simple as wiring in a MAX9406 (or similar) chip like the app note below?

Most of displayport outputs are DP++ which means you only need a simple level shifter IC. They already can output DVI signal natively, just with different voltage level. http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/sn75dp139.pdf
