| Benta:
FR-4 is the term for the ubiquitous green fibreglass/Epoxy PCB material. My apologies for being "nerdy" here. |
| Bud:
I would not go with self tapping screws. Batteries are heavy, chances are good the screws will become lose with time and the holder will fall off. A countersink head screw and nut on the other side and perhaps a drop of threadlocking compound. |

I’d put down a pad with a big annular ring or a suitably sized hole depending on your preference and put a shake proof washer and nut on the bottom with an M3 countersunk scree through it all. |
| Benta:
My apologies. I used the wrong term. What I actually meant was "thread cutting screw", thus my reference to M3. Like these: https://www.valuefastener.com/screws/thread-cutting-screws They hold excellently in 1.6 mm FR-4, and 4 x AAA ain't heavy. |
| PerranOak:
Thank you all very much. |
