Hi!
I have just bought Louis Scully's DC Voltage Calibrator PCB as a future construction project!
It is my future intention to construct this as a bench unit operating off the mains that (I hope!) can be expanded with 100VDC and 1000VDC max outputs, now that pcb designs can be obtained cheaply from JLC, additional pcbs for the 100V and 1000V ranges are no problem for me!
Is it possible to stabilise 100V and 1000V to the same degree and stability as the basic 10V design, for use with multimeters? (I'm looking at 10mA @ 100V and 5mA at 1000V max) – basically the 100V and 1000V would consist of x 10 and x 100 d.c. amplifiers added to the output of the original design, with control relays for the outputs and switching transistors to select revised code selection in the Arduino by earthing suitable pins, etc.
Can anyone point me in the direction of suitable circuits for x10/x100 high voltage d.c. amplifiers, and/or precision regulator circuits capable of stabilising up to 100/1000V please?
Also, what would be needed to be added to Louis's Code for 100 & 1000V ranges and where can I find resources for this please?
Finally, what about a.c. high voltage calibration sources? Datrons & Flukes use power HF generators for this, feeding whacking great ferrite core h.t. transformers – has anyone produced an a.c. source project capable of 1000V at 10/20mA up to 5 or 10kHz that can be sufficently well stabilised?
(Unless that lot from the Postcode Lottery that jump up and down on the telly ranting and raving at big wins give me a very kind smile, the chances of me ever being able to buy a Datron or Fluke high voltage calibration source are absolutely NIL!)
