searching a smd component
« on: June 23, 2014, 08:43:13 pm »
hi, right know i'm working on an h-bridge for driving a motor. I manage to make the h-bridge with some mosfets and it works fine but know i'm stock because i feel the control part is not safe. if you turn on the two sides of the h-bridge by mistake you can burn the mosfets. I manage to make a system  with some optocuplers and invertes to control the h-bridge with just two pins (PWM and Direction).

But then I was wondering if there is an electronic device like a relay that can do the trick but in smd package. just like a normally open-normally closed configuration with a common pin that I can place the PWM signal.

Thank all for your time.

Generally the two sides of the H-bridge are driven by a single transistor, which has the outcome you are after.

Basically when both inputs to the transistors are the same, the mosfets bring the device it drives to either the high voltage or low voltage potential, with the net effect that there is no voltage differential across the device. So not possible to burn them.
