Searching for Zuken Cadstar download
« on: December 05, 2013, 06:16:59 am »
Good day to all,

Can anyone help me on where to download Zuken Cadstar software?

I did find one in but seems like theres a problem with the software due to comments posted.  :-//

Is this a free software? or licensed required. I will be using this for my personal use and for my knowledge to explore and practice.

Looking forward on your response.

Thanks.  :)

Here: http://www.zuken.com/en/products/pcb-design/cadstar/resources/express You need to register first.

Express edition is limited to 300 pins or 50 components. This can be worked around by creating components that are in fact "circuit modules", but it's very cumbersome on larger scale. Also CadStar in general is a rather unpleasant tool to use. It has all the features that other high-end packages have, but the interface sucks bigtime. PCB designers in our company use it. If you can afford the full version - dont buy CadStar, go for Altium. If you're gonna use it as a hobbyist better go for DipTrace, because it's a piece of software that a hobbyist can actually afford.

Or you can look on torrent sites.

Thank you Sir  ;)

As per your advice I will take it as my reference.

I have experiences with Eagle but I need to migrate on a recommended EDA software that is widely used in the electronics industries specially those companies who used it.

I have read some comments and opinions about Altium sounds interesting on my part coz its well recommended  :-+

Cadstar is quirky indeed. If you're not dead set on it I wouldn't recommend it either.
I have to use it at work and you get used to it.
